As The Engineer UK reveals “Researchers at Liverpool University have created a collaborative AI tool that reduces the time and effort required to discover new materials. ”
They go on to highlight that “The new tool has led to the discovery of four new materials including a new family of solid-state materials that conduct lithium, an advance that is key to the development of solid-state batteries offering longer range and increased safety for electric vehicles.”
Whilst China, Germany and the USA are leading the world in electric vehicle production, the UK has the potential to be a leader in developing the key technologies associated with the batteries that power them.
Yet another reason to consider a career in Engineering in the UK.
